Level 2 - Practice Enhanced Precautions: Travelers to Nigeria should:
- Ensure diphtheria vaccination is up to date before travel
- Adults should have received a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) booster within the past 10 years
- Children should be up to date with their DTaP vaccine series
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Practice frequent hand washing with soap and water
- Seek immediate medical attention if you develop sore throat, fever, swollen glands, or difficulty breathing during or after travel
