Level 1 - Practice Usual Precautions: Travelers to Ethiopia should:
- Take prescription medicine to prevent malaria (antimalarial prophylaxis) - consult with a healthcare provider before travel
- Prevent mosquito bites by using EPA-registered insect repellents
- Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, especially during evening and nighttime hours when malaria mosquitoes are most active
- Stay in places with air conditioning or window/door screens
- Sleep under an insecticide-treated bed net
- Seek immediate medical care if you develop fever during or after travel
